Workshops and Artist Talks
In August 2020 Melania and Patty facilitated a stage skills workshop and an artist career talk for Cairns City Council’s emerging artist program for Cairns Festival.
Music Film Clip
In August 2020 The Ironing Maidens shot a music film clip with camera trainee’s Cristina Bevilacqua, Leah McBride and Jade Schuck. The location is the Tanks Arts Centre in Cairns.
Project Management and Mentoring
From Jan - June 2020 Melania managed the Q Music Project “Women in Music”. Melania supported 10 emerging arts workers to build a QLD tour for award winning artist Jesswar.
Training
As part of a digital adaptation project, three training positions were created in Camera for Livestreaming. Since March 2020, Cristina Bevilacqua, Leah McBride and Jade Schuck have been trained and engaged on live stream projects. A camera masterclass with acclaimed cinematographer Erika Addis was hosted for 5 participants.
Podcast
Melania and Patty are working on a Podcast Production of “A Soap Opera”. This is a digital adaptation of their recent gig theatre show of the same name. Working with writer Annette Moore (Home and Away, All Saints etc) and podcast producer Liz Keene (Still Jill, Radio National Earshot etc) as well as actors from Far North Queensland. Live Stream
“Northern Intent” a series of live-streamed productions from the far north of QLD, featuring artists with serious intent. From politics to resonance and sonic cyberfeminists. It's radical, real and regional. It is currently in production and releases a new session each month through Arts Front.
Live Stream Panel Discussion - Northsite
In June Shiny Shiny Productions produced a live stream panel discussion between acclaimed artist Yandell Walton and a group of climate scientists.
Projection Art
Melania has been working at Northsite Gallery Cairns to produce a projection piece called “Strike” for The Ironing Maidens.
Live Performance
The Ironing Maidens project “A Soap Opera” Premiered at Adelaide Fringe Festival in 2020 winning a John Chattaway Innovation Award. Trainee Stage Manager Shanna Neihsner participated in the show season.

Throughout 2019 and 2020 Melania has worked on a number of artist video projects for Northsite Gallery.
